Robert Crites - Owner
Robert came into this world in a hot tub, fell asleep on maintainers starting at three, broomed his first pool at eight, cut his teeth on pool renovations at 16, and designed, sold, and built his first custom pool and spa at 21. Robert comes from three generations of pool builders from the Central Texas region. His father, Johnny Crites, and grandfather, Andy Crites, founded Cody Pools in 1994, which laid down the foundation for his path into the swimming pool industry.
At 24, Robert moved back to Lubbock, Tx to pursue his passion for designing and building beautiful long-lasting outdoor masterpieces at Texas Tech University to study Landscape Architecture. His study abroad trip to Brazil opened his eyes to the beautiful world outside of Texas, pushing him to set his sights on California after graduation.
Upon graduation in 2015, Robert moved to Orange County, California to work at ValleyCrest Landscape Companies (which became BrightView Landscape) building, estimating, and managing large-scale commercial projects. It was here in California, where Robert met his love, Jenna, and was married in 2019. At the start of 2020, they relocated to Dallas, Texas to start a family. In 2021, Robert came back into the pool industry by taking the Aquatics Construction Manager position for the iconic Harold Leidner Landscape Architects. After 4+ years of building multiple award winning ultra-luxury pools in DFW's most prestigious neighborhoods on some of the nations most volatile soils, he moved to Pure Design. At Pure Design, led by Nick Hauk, he built some of the most exciting and challenging pools of his career. In 2026, he obtained his Certified Watershape Foreman certificate from Watershape University.
At 40, Robert founded DFW Luxury Pools to share his passion of high-quality swimming pool and water feature construction for the most discerning clients. All the education, work, and passion experienced at his previous institutions established the foundation and principles on which DFW Luxury Pools was created: to build iconic pools and water features that will withstand the test of time.
